Our second blog guest is Aiste Svarauskaite. She is a lifestyle blogger behind the blog Basic Approach (http://basicapproachblog.com) based in Vilnius, Lithuania. Aiste obviously loves good life quality and when it comes to style she likes to keep it simple yet interesting…and this is where Mellow. comes in handy! So, let’s get to know her better, shall we?
Aiste, please, introduce yourself. Who are you? What do you do on this Earth?
I’m a girl named Aiste. I was born, raised in Vilnius and I still love the city. I’m an editor of a popular travel website Makalius. When I’m off work I try to spend my time wisely and productively. I am a fashion and beauty blogger who spends a lot of time on Instagram, a member of a very powerful girl squad, amateur photographer, boxer, skater, and occasional runner, the ultimate dreamer, coffee and canelé lover, and traveler with a big desire to see the world.
What is a woman’s best friend?
To me, it’s shoes! It doesn’t matter if you’re into high-heels or devoted to sneakers – you will never have too many pairs of shoes! I have more than 40 pairs of shoes in my house, and I’m not ashamed of it! But, of course, it’s better to have a beloved best friend around than all the shoes.
100% black or 95% black and 5% colours?
Black, black and black. Well, sometimes a bit of grey and white comes along, but the base is always black.
What inspires you to live, learn and be fulfilled?
I’m the most inspired by realizing that I have much more than a person needs, which is not only the material things. I feel blessed to be motivated by people I love to do what makes me happy. This is not the only thing that keeps me motivated, a lot of things add to it like good music, quality movies, an interesting book and the book store smell, eye catching and inspiring fashion, art, interior and design creations, new tastes, mountains and my true love, the SEA.
What is courage to you? What is the bravest thing you’ve ever done in your life?
Courage to me is admitting your own mistakes. The bravest thing I’ve ever done was to admit and forgive myself for doing wrong.
How do you think courage reflects in fashion?
Courage in fashion is cutting like no one else does without being afraid other people’s reaction. It is making things from materials that no one else would think of. Choosing colors that contradict the season. Or just simply being yourself, because unfortunately, most people copy each other.
What are the words you live by?
Less is more. Work hard and be nice to people. Have courage and be kind.
